hAppy bday to ME

So. I turned 27 on Saturday. I know. Weird.

Birthdays. They just keep coming, don't they?  Who wants to celebrate getting older anyways?

Kids. That's who.

I was a kid once. TEN years ago. An ENTIRE decade ago, I was getting my first kiss and just about to graduate high school. I was also blond. Hm. Well, that about covers all the highlights of my being 17...

Who am I kidding, I'm still TOTALLY a kid... Totally...

I don't mind being 27, it's just a foreign sounding number. Maybe because I've been 26 for a whole year, and just when I just started getting used to that number it changed on me all of the sudden.

I don't know how 27 is supposed to feel, but it feels very much like 22. I like that number.

I'm 22. Yeah. It's my birthday.  I can be as old as I want to be. From now on, as far as you're concerned I'm 22.

AND. Furthermore. January 9, is no longer my birthday-the day I get older.  From now on, it's just an arbitrary day appointed to celebrate my awesomeness.

......ANYWAY. Enough about all that. Eee gads, somebody is going to suspect that I'm getting slightly freaked about approaching 30. and I'm not.

So Saturday.  What a seriously awesome day.  My friends really know how to make a girl feel loved.
My day started out with a birthday brunch at Neda's apartment.

here's me surrounded by several of my closest and most beautiful girl friends. Can you believe how lovely these ladies are?

The girls and I along with the boys had brunch together: Lil waffles with goat cheese and peaches, salad with feta and black berries and mini quiches! Suuuuper good.

Here is Neda presenting some darling cupcakes that Laura made to me! Isn't she such a babe?

In case you're wondering: yes, I did make everybody take an individual photo with me.

Clint & me.  Yes, he has a halo around his head. Don't be fooled, he's no angel.  Well, today he was.

After some brunch with friends, the rest of my birthday was spent with Clinton.  We watched a couple epi's of LOST, did a little shopping, then went to the Melting Pot.  Originally, we only planned to get dessert, but we ended up doing the whole four course meal.  Totally worth it.

Here's the chocolate

and the dessert.  .... oh wow.  It was good.

Our waiter was a sport and took a picture of us :) ha, losers.

OK.  Birthdays are cool.  I guess.  This one was definitely one of my faves.  Everybody made me feel really special and loved.
